More and more testimonials from people who have lived through the alleged “terror” years of Martial Law are coming out to disprove the wrong allegations. Watch how a Lola remembered the life during the Martial Law and how different it is from what other people portray it to be.
Words From The Wise
Words coming from an older person who has lived and witnessed firsthand the real events of history are much more believable than those written on books. Books, or history for that matter, are sometimes influenced by the opinions of those who wrote them.
In a video shared by Wala Na, Finish Na on their Facebook page, an elderly woman spoke about her experiences during the Martial Law years. She vividly remembered and narrated how life during those years was much better than when the administration of Cory Aquino took over.
Life Was Much Better
According to Lola, life was good during the martial law years. Prices of commodities were regulated so the prices of goods remained cheap. She mentioned that the price of the common person’s preferred fish, “galunggong” was just 16 pesos per kilo when Marcos reigned but doubled during the time of “corykong” as she calls Cory Aquino.
The people were also very disciplined during those times. Life was very peaceful, the only people who were prosecuted were those leftist groups like the NPA since they are the ones who wreak havoc and terror during those times.
She also said that the Aquinos were the enemy of the government during those times. She mentioned that the Aquinos may have ties with the NPA during those years.
She also said that the democracy that Aquino has always promised never materialized. It was all promises and no actions. But during the Martial Law, all the promises were kept. Words were put into actions. And nobody is above the law.
